POSITION PURPOSE: The HR assistant supports the HR department in its efforts to attract, retain, and develop a high-performing workforce while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The HR Assistant provides support services with the day-to-day administrative tasks of the HR department, includes assisting with various tasks related to recruitment, employee relations, training, and administrative functions.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time, Non Exempt
PAY: $15.86, Non-Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain HR department files, both electronic and physical, in an organized manner.
- Coordinate and schedule training sessions, meetings and interviews on behalf of the HR Director.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Support the HR Director in preparing and delivering presentations for organizational meetings (e.g., Home Team meetings, morning hurdles, training sessions), including creating slides, compiling data, and organizing talking points.
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department by answering incoming calls and professionally greeting and assisting new hires, employees, and other visitors.
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of one year of experience in an assistant role (preferred).
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in Canva
- Maintains guest relations and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

General Qualifications for All Employees of The Children’s Home of Lubbock:
- Must be 21 years of age per licensing standards.
- Be able to read, write and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel and other persons necessary to care for the young adult’s needs.
- Have a Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Exhibit behavior and health status that does not present a danger to young adult in care.
- Meet the requirements of licensing standards in regards to a criminal background check.
- Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.

- Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment
