Position Summary: The initial role of the Parent Educator will be to develop an honest, trusting relationship with parents and caregivers. Together, the Parent Educator and caregiver(s) will reach an agreement on how to best keep the child(ren) both physically and emotionally safe. The Parent Educator will utilize Triple P Parenting techniques, strength-based assessment, and risk/ harm reduction strategies to develop an action-oriented service plan—addressing the current and future factors contributing to referrals. The Parent Educator will work in collaboration with the assigned DSS caseworker to establish family goals, outcomes, and markers for success.
- Conduct intake and assessments and develop plans.
- Develop relationships with families using Motivational Interviewing techniques
- Deliver Triple P Parenting Curriculum
- Support families in implementing plans, meeting and communicating with families according to established guidelines, assessing risk factors and developing strategies to manage those factors, schedule new appointments and follow-up visits
- Communicating case contact with county workers, The Children's Home supervisors, and case collaterals
- Record and document all case interactions and activities
- Provide supervision and support for Parent Aides
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required
Experience:
