**Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant**

**Summary**

The Children's Center Utah has an opening for an Early Childhood Consultant who will work and travel throughout Utah County. This position provides early childhood mental health consultation services to childcare and other early childhood programs throughout this region.

**Responsibilities**

  • **Conduct early childhood program-focused consultation **to support the healthy social and emotional development of young children, caregivers, parents, and educators.
  • **Provides **on-site support for children in early childhood programs.
  • **Teaches workshops and supports early childhood professionals** on social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health topics related to their work with young children.
  • **Keeps accurate records of activities**, records data in approved formats, and generates reports as needed.
  • **Participates fully **in department and agency meetings, professional development activities, and community outreach as assigned.
  • **Pilot the development** and implementation of a positive guidance policy in programs receiving programmatic consultation services

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in child or Human Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology (or a closely related field)
  • Extensive experience with young children in group care and education is required.
  • Knowledge of social, emotional, and behavioral development of young children
  • Desire to become more specialized in early chi

  • Ability to become proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must have own reliable transportation to get to and from childcare programs.
  • Early Childhood coaching experience and training preferred.
  • Ability to Obtain an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement
  • Bilingual/bicultural- English Spanish candidates desired

**Compensation**

$44,000 s arting
