What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Staffing Coordinator position at the Chickasaw Nation?
We are currently looking for a Full Time RN Staffing Coordinator to join our Inpatient Staffing team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center .
Summary:
This facility provides professional and clinical healthcare services to Native American beneficiaries. This position maintains and provides assistance with 24/7 inpatient nursing staffing needs for the inpatient nursing units: Acute Care, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Women's Care/OB.
Responsibilities:
- Assures balanced staffing for each shift on each unit in collaboration with the unit managers for all inpatient units
- Provides appropriate staff to include required number of hours and skill mix to meet the standards of each unit
- Utilizes appropriate manager input for decision making about changes being made to the staffing schedule due to staff request or changing of census/acuity
- Maintains staffing schedule records to reflect schedule changes, labor transfers, and call ins and agency usage on the portal, with each unit manager and the house supervisor
- Maintains communication with master staffing data base and submits updates daily
- Assists unit managers in ensuring that staff who 'float' have necessary certifications and competencies
- Develops and provides reports to Nursing Administration as requested
- Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information
- Provides for a safe and clutter free working environment
- Follows established line of support in resolution of departmental and interdepartmental disputes and/or disagreements
- Maintains the RN core competencies for the staff nursing
- Researches evidence-based nurse staffing information and provides recommendations to Nursing Administration for improvements.
- Stays abreast of new nurse staffing information and communicates information as needed to applicable units
- Assists with the credentialing and onboarding of new agency staff
- Assists with communicating new updates/requirements to the agencies
- Monitors agencies use and develops reports for Nursing Administration
- Communicates staffing concerns and issues to the Director of Inpatient Nursing as needed
- Oversees current staff scheduling platform and is responsible for appropriate use
- Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
