What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition Services Operations Site Specialist position at the Chickasaw Nation?
We are currently looking for a Full Time Nutrition Services Operations Site Specialist to join our Farmers Market Nutrition Program Team team located at the Purcell Nutrition Services.
Summary:
Provides day-to-day site coordination of the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Programs. The position will coordinate, facilitate and implement the distribution of benefits to eligible participants. Mostly detailed to Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) and Winter Fruits and Vegetables Benefit (WFVB) but can assist with all Nutrition Services Programs. This position requires strong self-motivation skills to complete routine work independently, following written procedures, standards and regulations. This position would also act as a community liaison for program promotion, education and outreach.
- Oversees for initial inventory of SFMNP EBT cards and continuation of perpetual inventory records as well as overseeing the adherence to all security measures
- Administers the issuance of farmers’ market benefits
- Networks with and influence on-site nutrition services team members as well as external Chickasaw Nation departments to successfully serve all eligible participants in the Chickasaw Nation area
- Formulates a successful outreach plan of action to invite all potential eligible participants to take part in all nutrition services programs
- Monitors numerous farmers’ markets and ensures that regulations are being followed. Prepares reports as necessary
- Collaborates with Program Manager to maintain proper inventory for SFMNP and WFVB
- Conducts monthly deliveries of WFVB to Chickasaw Elders in outlying areas
- Ensures that storage areas are kept clean and maintained as needed to prevent accidents and prevent pest and rodent activity
- Oversee the collection of participant and inventory data IQ
- Treats all applicants and co-workers with dignity and respect
- Maintains an effective working relationship with all Chickasaw Nation staff, departments, and exterior customers
- Trains with other Nutrition Services programs and assists as needed
- Understands SFMNP EBT program, the relationship with the USDA and the guidelines set forth for the current year
- Assists in vendor integration activities
- Assists implementation of QR code – EBT card
- Enters data and maintain SFMNP/WFVB database of over 3,000 participants
- Ensures all communications with press, news media of any kind must be approved by the Communications Division
- Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
- Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
- Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
- Maintains and promotes professionalism
- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
- Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
