We are currently looking for a Full Time Dispatcher to join our Lighthorse Police Department Communications A team located at the Lighthorse Police Department - Ada Precinct working .

Summary:
The Telecommunications Equipment Operator (Dispatcher) performs assignments independently, including contacts to resolve problems or coordinate activities, and works according to established work plans, resolves most problems without help from the supervisor. The supervisor provides work direction, the kind of quality of services to be provided, priority of work, and interpretation of changes in rules controlling the kind of support provided. The supervisor resolves unusual problems and provides specific instructions for special tasks. Completed work is reviewed for technical soundness, accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of service delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
  • Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
  • Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
  • Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
  • Maintains and promotes professionalism
  • Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
  • Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
  • Develops and maintains documentation as appropriate - files, logs, records, reports, etc.
  • Performs all functions associated with radio net control necessary to transmit and receive law enforcement communications traffic. Answers and disseminates information received through regular phone systems and two-way radio. Interviews callers ascertaining the nature of the call and providing information, if available. Takes complaints and refers to appropriate authorities. Records all radio and telephone communication transactions on appropriate control log
  • Serves as a central receiving and dispatching officer for The Chickasaw Nation Police Department and an official tribal citizen information and complaint center. Takes appropriate action with high priority of the call. Relays messages, complaints or other emergency type information received to appropriate personnel. Utilizes several types of computer software, prepares reports of activities and incidents encountered in accordance with required forms, procedures, and techniques
  • Maintains logs and files of complaints, police actions, and reports. Receives and checks recurring reports to assure that all items are properly completed and that the necessary copies and signature are present
  • Initiates interview with complainants and obtains information for investigative referral to the proper personnel or department. Receives other calls to the office and give or obtains information on such topics as juvenile problems, ascertains the nature of telephone calls and personal inquiries and exercise discretion and resourcefulness in disposing of inquiries of a routine nature, and other relevant information. Determines which, in own judgment, must be brought to the attention of the supervisor or can be handles by self or other personnel
  • Operates the OLETS computer system
  • Operates the NCIC Criminal Justice computer system, which includes accessing computer criminal records, wanted individuals, driver license check, and motor vehicle information and disseminate any incoming messages to proper personnel
  • Serves as the Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC), responsible for filing teletype documents in appropriate subject files
  • Serves as central repository for protection orders, arrest warrants, and bench warrants issued by The Chickasaw Nation District Court and those received by other jurisdictions
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of National Crime Information Center system (NCIC)
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (OLETS)
  • Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations
  • Ability to multitask
