Therapist
The Charlton School collaborates with families to create a therapeutic learning community where a foundation, based on relationships, drives creativity and self-discovery through intensive individualized approaches. Located in southern Saratoga County, we are focused on delivering the right therapy in the right environment in ways that fit our students. The Charlton School provides students with smaller class sizes to support their academic progress, carefully selected peers, multiple forms of therapy to aid with the improvement of their mental health, and qualified professionals who can help students feel safe, connected and empowered. Residential and day students are supported with collaborative treatment plans that include Art Therapy, Equine Therapy, Family Therapy, Social Emotional Learning, among others on a scenic 275 acre campus.

Major Duties:

The Therapist is responsible for a caseload of 9 students and their families. The Therapist provides direct services to students and their families, utilizing therapeutic frameworks designed to support overall program efficacy and identified student outcomes. The Therapist is also responsible for collaboration with the educational and residential teams. The Therapist reports to the Director of Admissions and Clinical Operations and is a crucial member of the larger interdisciplinary team.

1. Develop, facilitate and monitor all treatment planning and care coordination for assigned students.

2. Conduct regular family and individual sessions based in evidence based practice as deemed appropriate in collaboration with the Director of Admissions and Clinical Operations.

3. Participate in the development and monitoring of all students’ Positive Behavior Support Plans and other required documentation.

4. Conduct ongoing assessments to assess the efficacy of the clinical framework to best support students’ development of self-regulatory skills.

5. With the Campus Supervisors, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, participate in weekly meetings designed to support overall program success through directive, informed communication with the Residential Counselors.

6. Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Medical Services, Director of Clinical Services, psychological consultant, educational team, and campus life team in conjunction with the Director of Admissions and Clinical Operations.

7. Attend all relevant meetings as determined to be appropriate.

8. Utilize current research and best practice techniques to deliver small group therapy and staff training as deemed appropriate in conjunction with the Director of Admissions and Clinical Operations

Work Schedule:

● Full Time 40 hours, flexible schedule

* Some evening hours required

Salary/Benefits:

● Extremely Competitive Salary /Benefits package

Criteria:

1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related licensure required.

2. LCSW/LMHC licensure preferred, supervision provided to qualified candidates.

3. Ability to relate professionally to a wide range of individuals including staff, adolescents and their families, referring agencies and various treatment providers.

4. Experience with adolescents and families necessary.

5. Valid Driver's License

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
