High School Substitute Teaching Assistant
The Charlton School is a small, clinically focused, therapeutic residential and day NYS approved 853 school for students in grades 8-12. The Charlton School mission centers around helping students become emotionally healthy, socially well-adjusted individuals who are able to achieve their highest level of individual independence. Our educational and treatment interventions focus on helping our students develop skills to improve competency with executive functioning and self-advocacy.
Major Duties:
- Provide instructional/academic support to students under the general supervision of a certified teacher
- Provide individualized support to students as they develop social, communication, and academic skills
- Communicates effectively with the instructional team, including classroom teacher, and other professional staff
- Assists in before and after-school programs
- Provides supervision of students
Work Schedule:
- 7:30am - 3:30pm called daily as needed, Monday through Friday
- Follows School Calendar
Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience working in a classroom or therapeutic setting preferred
- NYS certification as a Teaching Assistant preferred
- Must be flexible, responsible and dependable
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
