What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coding Coordinator position at The Central Orthopedic Group, LLP?
- Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with use of modifiers for services provided
- Medical coders review medical records, analyze billing and coding.
- Assign codes for reimbursement.
- Thoroughly read and interpret the documentation contained in the medical record to identify all diagnosis and procedures to which codes must be billed. Assess the adequacy of documentation to ensure that it supports the principle diagnosis.
- Resolve discrepencies on coding related issues
- Follow all codig guidelines, rules and regulations when assigning codes.
- Eceptional organizational skills
- Utilize coding resources along with any other applicable reference material
- Must have AAPC-CPC Certification
- Orthopedics is a plus
