What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer, Pre-Med Student position at The Centers?
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate pre-medical student to volunteer at The Centers. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hand’s-on experience in a healthcare setting while working alongside healthcare professionals and supporting our mission to provide quality care to underserved communities. Volunteers will assist with various clinical and administrative task while gaining valuable exposure to patient care and the inner workings of a medical facility.
Key Responsibilities
Assist medical staff with client intake, including recording vital signs and medical history.
Help with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and organizing patient records
Support clinical staff with patient care during exams or procedures (under supervision).
Participate in patient education and outreach efforts, providing information about preventive care and wellness programs.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized.
Qualifications:
Current pre-medical student or recent graduate.
Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare and/or medicine.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Previous volunteer or healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
