Responsibilities
- Safely instruct an effective and creative group exercise class at the Health and Recreation Center
- Provide quality customer service to all participants in class, regardless of fitness level, appearance, or otherwise
- Communicate effectively with supervisor through phone, email, or in person
- Enforce all program policies and procedures as it pertains to group exercise classes
- Enforce all building policies and procedures and assist as needed during emergencies
- Attend department staff meetings
- Other duties as required
- Possess a current CPR/AED and first aid certification
- Possess a nationally accredited group exercise certification such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, FITTOUR, or a specialty certification such as Zumba, yoga, group cycling, pilates, etc.
- Leadership and supervisory abilities

- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of standard practices in fitness, wellness, and recreation
- Strong communication skills

- Evening or weekend work as required
- Standing or walking for at least 50% of the work day
