Responsibilities
- Safely instruct an effective and creative group exercise class at the Health and Recreation Center
- Provide quality customer service to all participants in class, regardless of fitness level, appearance, or otherwise
- Communicate effectively with supervisor through phone, email, or in person
- Enforce all program policies and procedures as it pertains to group exercise classes
- Enforce all building policies and procedures and assist as needed during emergencies
- Attend department staff meetings
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess acurrent CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Posses a nationally acreditted group exercise certification such as: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or a specialty certification such as zumba, yoga, group cycling, pilates, etc. (It is preferred that all candidates have a national group exercise certification AND specialty certifications. Exceptions will be on a case-by-case basis based on a variety of factors.)

- Knowledge of standard practices in fitness, wellness and recreation

- Proficiency with audio/visual equipment
Human Relations:Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information, negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.

- Office environment/fitness center environment
- Moderate to loud noise
- Evening or weekend work as required
