The Center for Rural Development invites applications for the Information Technology Systems Specialist position in Somerset, Kentucky.
The primary purpose of the Information Technology Systems Specialist is to provide day-to-day technical support for the organization’s IT systems and end users. The Information Technology Systems Specialist will focus on user support, routine system maintenance, and assisting with established IT operations under the direction of the Director of Operations. Additionally, the IT Systems Specialist will execute backups and follow established recovery and data protection procedures. The Information Technology Systems Specialist will adhere to Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and procedures. Experience in supporting Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive) as well as experience in providing technical support via remote access tools and phone. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills are required.
Qualifications:
Must possess a college degree (associate's or bachelor’s) with three to five years of related work experience in information technology (or related field) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and common infrastructure components.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
- Familiarity with Windows and mac OS operating systems; basic exposure to Linux environments.
- Experience providing technical support via remote access tools and phone.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow established processes and work effectively in an on-site environment.
- Entry to mid-level IT certifications (CompTIA A , Network ).
- Experience supporting or maintaining VoIP or other telephony systems.
- Experience performing routine updates and maintenance for WordPress or similar websites.
- Exposure to cloud platforms or virtualization technologies.
- Basic scripting or automation experience.
- Experience working with or terminating fiber-optic cabling.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or workflow automation platforms.
