The Center at Cordera is looking for a PRN Speech Language Pathologist! Our Centers serve patients needing physical rehabilitation and/or complex nursing care. Pay is dependent on relevant experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess and treat disorders of swallow, speech, language, voice and cognition
- Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning speech therapy services-to include patients and family
- Brief patient of procedures involved in speech therapy-reassure patient before and during therapy treatment
- Determine proper treatment, application and body position, make adjustments when necessary in the administration of treatments
- Recommend modifications of changes in the patient’s therapy program based on evaluation of progress
- Ensure that all therapy notes are informative, descriptive and follow Company’s policy and procedures
Education/Certifications
Applicable state license is required for this position
Experience and Specific Requirements
- Should have as a minimum, 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism
- Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Must possess good judgement and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information
- Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements
- Must have the ability and to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals and objectives of the department as it relates to the Company
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
