Security Guard

Position Summary

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all patrons, artists, staff, and partners at The Carson Center. This position supports security operations during events and daily building activities through proactive monitoring, access control, customer service, and incident response. Security Guards serve as visible representatives of the organization, balancing safety responsibilities with a professional and guest-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

· Monitor assigned areas of the facility to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, performers, and property

· Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas of the building

· Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and access points

· Enforce facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations

· Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or security concerns

Guest Services and Event Support

· Provide a professional, courteous, and welcoming presence for all guests and visitors

· Assist patrons with directions, information, and general customer service needs

· Support crowd management and maintain orderly guest movement during events

· Assist with bag checks, credential verification, and access control as required

· Help ensure a positive guest experience while maintaining security standards

Incident Response

· Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other security-related situations

· Follow established emergency procedures and assist with evacuations when necessary

· Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, emergency responders, and law enforcement when required

· De-escalate conflicts and address disruptive behavior in a professional manner

· Document incidents accurately and completely through written reports

Compliance and Reporting

· Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation

· Report maintenance, safety, and security concerns to appropriate personnel

· Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and participate in required training programs

· Adhere to all organizational policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations

Qualifications

· Previous security, customer service, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred

· Experience in live events, performing arts venues, arenas, hospitality, or public-facing environments is a plus

· Strong observation skills and attention to detail

· Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

· Ability to pass a background check

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods

· Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions

· Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations

· Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Pay: $16.50 per hour
