ABOUT THE CARSON CENTER: The Carson Center for the Performing Arts, also known as The Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center, is a regional, multiple-use facility with beautiful spaces for public and private events of all types. The Carson Center is located in downtown Paducah, Kentucky, and overlooks the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. It is a significant component of Paducah’s downtown area revitalization and serves a diverse population from a four-state region and beyond. The Carson Center is a not-for-profit organization (501(c)(3).
THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL: The Marketing & Communications Manager leads the planning, execution, and evaluation of all marketing and communications efforts for The Carson Center. This position is responsible for increasing awareness of the Carson Center brand, driving ticket sales, strengthening community engagement, and ensuring a consistent, compelling public presence across all marketing platforms.
Working collaboratively with Programming, Development, Operations, and external promoters, the Marketing & Communications Manager develops and implements strategic marketing campaigns for Carson Center presented performances, rental events, educational programming, fundraising initiatives, and organizational branding.
The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing professional with exceptional creative skills, strong project management abilities, outstanding communication skills, and a passion for connecting audiences with live performing arts experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, execute, and oversee the marketing strategy for all public-facing events held at the Carson Center.
- Maintain the Carson Center website and ensure that all content, both brand-focused and show/event-focused, are up-to-date and accurate at all times.
- Coordinate with the client marketing teams for all public-facing events to acquire approved marketing assets, submit content for approval, monitor all marketing requests, and make changes to all content as needed.
- Build strong relationships with community marketing partners.
- Create engaging, dynamic content for all marketing mediums for the Carson Center brand (cross-departmental) and all public-facing events.
- Create and maintain a highly engaging social media presence for the Carson Center on all social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, META, TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, and any future platforms that may emerge.
- Develop, present, and implement strong, effective marketing plans for all public-facing events, especially for all shows presented by the Carson Center.
- Monitor the performance of all event marketing plans and make changes as needed.
- Attend all public-facing events to capture content for future marketing and promotional content.
- Attend all community events where the Carson Center has a presence.
- Monitor commentary and public interactions, as well as private messages, on all Carson Center social media platforms.
- Work with the Development Manager on any marketing needs for show, season and Carson Center sponsorships.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned to support the mission and operational needs of The Carson Center.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:
EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years of professional marketing experience, preferably within the performing arts, entertainment, nonprofit, hospitality, or tourism industries.
- Demonstrated success creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns that produce measurable results.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS
- Strong content creation skills in graphic design, photography, videography, and copywriting.
- Experience managing websites through content management systems including, but not limited to, Carbon House, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and other domain hosting systems.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Acrobat.
- Extensive experience using Canva and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience managing META Business Suite, Google Analytics, Google Ads, email marketing platforms (WordFly, MailChimp, etc.), and social media advertising on, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Experience purchasing and coordinating advertising through television, radio, print, digital, streaming, billboard, and other media outlets.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organizational, time management and project management skills.

AVAILABILITY
This position requires a flexible work schedule and regular on-site attendance for performances, special events, community outreach activities, season announcements, donor functions, and other Carson Center events. Evening, weekend, and occasional holiday work are an essential function of the position.
