Associate Vice President, Fund Management Global Private Equity Location: Washington, DC Line of Business: Finance Job Function: Investor Services Date: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 Position Summary Department Description The Fund Management (FM) team is responsible for the operations of Carlyle’s investment funds. FM is focused on bringing a broad skillset to serve as a true strategic partner to Carlyle’s investment teams (“the business”). The Fund Management team 1) partners with segment / fund leadership in setting future strategic direction and decision making, primarily focusing on financial and executional considerations, 2) collaborates with the business to ensure strong risk management, seamless execution and high performance, 3) connects the business to the broader organization to enable the business to leverage the full breadth of Carlyle resources, 4) supports business and investor relations teams in proactively managing and growing investor relationships, and 5) brings a combined finance and operational skillset in understanding the business and managing risk / compliance. Successful members of the FM team are highly adaptable and able to shift gears quickly, often juggling many high-profile priorities under tight deadlines. They have a superior work ethic and embrace that the fast-paced, dynamic nature of our business often requires commitment outside of normal business hours. Position Summary The FM Associate Vice President plays a significant role in reviewing the quarterly valuations of the funds’ investments, preparing and reviewing materials to support fundraising initiatives, coordinating with and supporting Carlyle’s investment teams to acquire and dispose of investments, providing input into analysis led by the central reporting team, and supporting tactical elements of forecasting / budgeting (fund performance analysis and optimization). The FM Associate Vice President also collaborates with the Fund CFO and team leadership to brainstorm and develop ad-hoc Fund Management-related materials and analysis and may also serve on working groups for various department and firm initiatives (i.e., technology enhancement, process improvements, etc.). In-Office Requirement: 4 days per week Responsibilities Review quarterly financial valuations and exit forecasts for fund portfolio companies prepared by investment teams. Coordinate with the Corporate Accounting Valuation Group on quarterly valuation deliverables, including reviewing exit forecasts for the quarterly forecasting process. Prioritize and coordinate the organization of quarterly valuation deliverables and support. Support the monthly financial valuation process as needed Track and maintain appropriate controls and record-keeping Provide ad hoc analysis on portfolio valuations, including allocation and scenario modelling for Fund CFO and senior leadership Liaise with partnership accounting, fund management administrative consultants, fund counsel, tax, and fund coordination functions to lead the process of transaction execution (new investments, exits, restructures) including documentation and administration. Oversee the process and timeline of borrowings, capital calls and distributions Provide support for the preparation of annual fund operating budgets through completion of operating revenue and expense projections. Perform quarterly budget-to-actual variance analysis Coordinating with legal, compliance, investor relations and external counsel support fundraising efforts for new funds and co-investment offerings, including preparation of marketing materials and review of junior analysts’ responses to due diligence requests Support team leadership and legal group in negotiations and legal review of fund documents Support team leadership in process management of FM aspects of fundraising (coordination of closings, entity formation and coordinating across teams for legal, tax, and lender diligence) Reporting: Coordination and review of key performance metrics and detailed data requests on a quarterly and ad hoc basis for Portfolio Review meetings, etc. across teams Drive timeline of update and review quarterly updates of the fund and the underlying portfolio companies for investors with minimal supervision. Support Fund CFOs and Segment CFO in preparing presentations and ad hoc financial analysis. Review capital call/distribution and waterfall calculations Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared by partnership accounting Assist annual audit process by reviewing and responding to auditor inquiries, coordinating with investment professionals, and participating in weekly status calls Provide day-to-day oversight and mentorship to junior team members, including review of work product and coordination of team responsibilities Qualifications Education & Certificates Bachelor’s degree required Concentration in Accounting, Finance or Economics degree preferred CPA/CFA preferred Professional Experience 7-10 years of prior experience in an analytical or financial role required Financial Services experience preferred Analytical capabilities and practical experience with the accounting and financial principles related to private equity Strong and confident communication with Investment Professionals, Investor Relations Professionals, and other Investor Service team member (Internal) as well as Investors and Service Providers (External) Competencies & Attributes Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) skills required Demonstrated competency in utilizing generative AI tools and technologies to improve efficiency analysis, and decision-making within business workflows Ability to operate in a demanding and fast paced environment and balance multiple tasks Significant overtime as well as availability outside of normal business hours required frequently, especially during quarterly valuation cycles, in connection with deal closings and during fundraising periods Self-starter with an ownership mentality Strong interpersonal skills a must Articulate, polished and well-rounded with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to succeed in a matrix organization with multiple areas of responsibilities High integrity and dedication to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary material Benefits/Compensation The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000. In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
