We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team at our Wall NJ location! Our Paralegal position requires a significant amount of client contact and scheduling.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to attorneys.
- Answer all office telephone calls (client/opposing party/3rd party interaction).
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on debt restructuring laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Prepare legal documents, including debt restructuring agreements, contracts, and settlement proposals.
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal correspondence and pleadings related to client cases.
- Manage calendaring dockets and court cases.
- Schedule court appearances.
- Communicate and liaise with clients, creditors, and legal partners to ensure smooth case progression and timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case details in our database.
- Monitor and track the status of debt restructuring cases and keep all stakeholders informed of developments.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Stay informed about industry trends, changes in debt restructuring laws, and updates on creditor practices.
- Collaborate with the legal team to improve internal processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Perform administrative duties (build and maintain database [data entry] and client files).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (any field), Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, OR Paralegal Certificate highly preferred
- Prior experience working and supporting attorney(s) at a law firm (at least 1-2 years)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel (Required)
- Proficient in legal research tools and database management
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Empathetic and professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive client matters
