Overview

As a Laundry Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents by managing laundry services efficiently and safely. Your energetic approach will ensure textiles and garments are cared for meticulously, supporting the overall well-being of those we serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare setting while developing essential skills in textile cleaning and sanitation.

Duties

• Operate garment care machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and dry cleaning equipment to ensure proper cleaning of textiles.
• Handle laundry materials with care, including sorting, folding, and organizing linens, clothing, and resident garments.
• Use push carts and other materials handling tools to transport laundry safely throughout the facility.
• Follow strict safety standards and protocols during all laundry processes to prevent accidents and ensure sanitation.
• Maintain cleanliness of laundry areas by adhering to sanitation procedures and safety standards in production environments.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to bulk laundry loads or large items while following manual handling safety guidelines.
• Support residents’ laundry needs with friendly customer service, respecting their privacy and garment care preferences.

Requirements

• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and pushing carts.
• Basic math skills for measuring detergents and managing laundry loads accurately.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety protocols in production environments.
• Experience with laundry services or textile cleaning is preferred; hotel or healthcare experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with garment care machines such as washers, dryers, dry cleaning equipment, and industrial dryers.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure proper garment care and cleanliness standards are met.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact respectfully with residents and staff.
