Position: Maintenance-Engineer
FLSA: Non-Exempt

To maintain the hotel’s customer and heart of house areas in accordance with company standards by performing preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Will handle routine maintenance in public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds
- Maintains rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed
- Repairs televisions, phones, clock radios, replace or repair damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as needed
- Maintains the overall appearance of the room; replaces broken mirrors, hangs fixtures, does touch up painting, etc.
- Troubleshoots rooms heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems
- Uses both power and hand tools regularly in a safe, efficient manner
- Maintains exterior of building and grounds as necessary including snow removal
- Participates in overall cleanliness of public and back of house areas. Empty trash, recycling, organize, stock closets, sanitization, vacuum, dust, clean glass surfaces and such as requested.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the requirements of the hotel:
- Take every opportunity to amaze the guests
- Coordinate activities with other hotel departments
- Wash windows as requested
- Work with outside contractors as necessary to assist them in performing maintenance or construction jobs

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be self-directed. There is minimal direct supervision.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must have a good knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems; knowledge of HVAC strongly preferred.
The worker is subject to vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities on whole body and is subject to hazards: including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases or poor ventilation.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Position requires walking and standing most of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical school degree helpful.
- One plus years in maintenance and professional painting experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any governmental required licenses, certificates or permits & CPR certification.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
