We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support The Canby Center’s daily operations. In this role, you’ll help ensure the smooth flow of food and clothing donations, while engaging and coordinating volunteers behind the scenes, so that the TCC facility provides a welcoming, dignifying environment. Joining a supportive team, you’ll play a key role in creating efficient, safe, and organized systems that make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

Position Title: Logistics Specialist
Reports To: Facilities & Operations Coordinator
Classification: Full-Time, 40 hours, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $19-$21 Hourly DOE

DESCRIPTION:

The Logistics Specialist plays a vital role in supporting TCC’s staff, volunteers, and community through efficient, mission-driven logistics. From engaging and coordinating volunteers to managing the flow of high-volume food and clothing donations, this role is key to keeping operations running smoothly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Food & Clothing Logistics (90%)

  • Receive, weigh, log, and properly store incoming donations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies, donors, and vendors
  • Pick up food donations using the TCC van
  • Keep warehouse, Community Share, and storage areas clean, organized, and efficient
  • Train and guide volunteers in logistics and facility tasks
  • Support setup and cleanup for food distributions
  • Contribute flexibly to team needs as they arise

Safety & Facility Care (10%)

  • Maintain required equipment safety certifications
  • Proactively identify, report, and address safety concerns
  • Support upkeep of the warehouse and parking areas

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Ability to self-start and manage logistics independently
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Forklift experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with community members
  • Patience and composure in challenging situations
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt as needs change throughout the day
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Willingness to adjust hours as needed
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

General Employment Requirements

  • The employee will have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior, John 1:12.

  • The employee will be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God's Biblical standards for morality and sexual conduct, I Timothy 4:12; Luke 6:40; Colossians 3:17; Titus 2:7-8; I Thessalonians 2:10 and 5:22.
  • The employee will be a regular participant in a community of Christian faith that affirms these beliefs/practices.
