What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Cook position at The Campus?
Responsiblities
- Prepare and cook to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time. May take orders from customers and serve patrons at counters or tables.
- Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables.
- Complete orders from grill and fryers. Placing food on plates and serving customers at tables or counters.
- Grill and garnish hamburgers or other meats.
- Grill, cook, and fry foods such as french fries, eggs, and pancakes
- Greeting customers as they arrive, providing customers with information on available food items; assisting customers in choosing their desired items, and up selling when appropriate, accepting and processing cash payments, and replenishing all food and beverage items by stocking counters and displays in a neat manner.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends. Specifically Saturday nights.
- Must be able to work M-F 10am-1pm during Summer Camp. Your kiddos have the oppurtunity to attend Summer Camp for FREE!
Specific Job Knowledge
Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Good working knowledge of the fundamentals of cooking.
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
- Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e. stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, fryers, steamers, kettles, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
- Ability to read and write the English language in order to complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with other employees.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hands in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e. knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
