We are looking for a qualified preschool teacher to join our team at The Campus Downtown. To apply you must submit a resume and your school transcripts. To qualify you will need 15 ECE units including 3 units from the infant/toddler component. You will also need to be able to clear a background check, have a clear TB screening on file and be first aid/CPR certified and a minimum of at least 6 months of experience in a licensed child care facility within the last 2 years.

Report to: Head Teacher (Director) HR Approved Date: FLSA Status: Non Exempt
PRIMARY PURPOSE OR RESPONSIBILITY: Under the supervision of the Head Teacher (Director), provide classroom leadership in implementing and coordinating best practices for classroom activities according to age and development levels of children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Head Teacher with the implementation of a curriculum with activities to help support children’s growth through their developmental stages which include social and emotional development, large and fine motor skills, cognitive and physical development. Engage in developmentally appropriate and fun learning practices.
- Observe and monitor children's play activities. Redirect any inappropriate behavior with positive guidance and redirection.
- Organize and participate in recreational play activities both indoor and outdoor.
- Ensure that the health and safety of every child is a top priority at all times. Guide children in learning healthy habits such as eating, hand washing and bathroom responsibilities.
- Assist in food preparation and serve meals and refreshments to children including making sure children have access to water all day during all hours of operation.
- Guide classroom staff in the development and execution of appropriate curriculum and ensure that it complies with applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure the center's physical facilities comply with applicable laws and regulations and is safe and appropriate environment for children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience/Certifications: An Associate of Arts degree in Child Development or Early Child Education. One year of prior experience working as a member of a classroom in a licensed center. CPR/First Aid Certification.
Criminal Record Statement to include criminal background check and fingerprinting, Health Screening Report and Personnel Record to be successfully completed prior to completion of hiring.
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise: Working knowledge of child care licensing regulations. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, staff and community partners. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Physical Requirements: Work requires long periods of sitting with occasional walking, standing, and infrequent stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching above head. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment Work performed in standard child care center office/facility environment.Work performed during normal business hours. Additional time may be required to meet business needs or deadlines. Dependable transportation for work, training sessions and meetings and work related business as needed.
Work Schedule: Full and Part Time, Non Exempt Status, 12 months per year. In addition to normal business hours, attendance at occasional evening and weekend events required.
