Job Summary:
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of the participants in their assigned classes. They should serve as a team member in developing creative lesson plans and implementing them in their classrooms.
Toddler Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plans and implements curriculum with activities to help support children’s growth through their developmental stages which include social and emotional development, large and fine motor skills, cognitive and physical development.
- Engages and observes in developmentally appropriate and fun learning practices.
- Ensures that the health and safety of every child is a top priority at all times. Guide children in learning healthy habits such as eating, hand washing and bathroom responsibilities and redirect any inappropriate behavior with positive guidance techniques.
- Assists in food preparation and serve meals and refreshments to children including making sure children have access to water all day during all hours of operation.
- Maintains professional attitude and work behavior.
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/ or school functions as determined by the director.
- Observes all rules and regulations of The Campus Downtown / The Campus II and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
- Maintenance and upkeep of the classroom, the children, and the site.
- Effective classroom management
- Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director.
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:
- Working knowledge of childcare licensing regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, staff and community partners.
- Excellent staff supervisory skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situation.
- Work requires long periods of being on their feet, walking, standing, and infrequent stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching above head.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard childcare facility environment.
- Dependable transportation for work, training sessions and meetings and work-related business as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Early childhood education: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- CPR and Pediatric First Aid Certifications (Preferred)
- Minimum of 12 ECE units including 3 Infant / Toddler units (Required)
