Laser Operator

Job Duties:

• Laser cuts plates to engineering specs
• Unloads plate from trucks
• Uses overhead crane and other equipment to move plate.
• Schedules components based on plate thickness in production and availability
• Performs safety check and records results on clamp inspection records
• Unloads and deburrs cut plates. Stacks plates with job travelers to maintain part identification
• Attaches part number sticker or laser etches part ID on each part
• Changes table slats as needed
• Disposes of slag from the table every three days
• Cleans and lubricates machine and records maintenance performed
• Demonstrates the company values in all work activities
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reports defective tools and equipment.
• Complies with all safety rules and requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years experience setting up and operating a CNC laser table preferred
• One year forklift experience
• One year overhead crane experience preferred
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proven ability to read a tape measure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.. Occasionally the employee must twist/turn, bend, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, push/pull, lift up to 50 pounds, engage in repetitive use of hands, talk and listen

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• laser set up and operating: 2 years (Preferred)
• Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
• overhead crane: 1 year (Preferred)
• Blueprint reading: 1 year (Preferred)
