Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our team during tax season from January through April. This hybrid position allows flexibility to work from home with occasional in person collaboration in the St. Louis area.
Hours will vary week to week, starting lighter early in the season and ramping up as deadlines approach.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and filing individual and small business tax returns such as Form 1040, 1120S, and 1065
- Conducting tax research and staying current on tax regulations
- Reviewing financial records for accuracy and identifying tax saving opportunities
- Communicating directly with clients to gather documentation and explain results
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
- At least 2 years of hands on tax preparation experience in public accounting or a similar setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- CPA or EA designation preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and common tax preparation software such as CCH Axcess or Drake
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with clients
