Job Description: Sanitation Technician  - Sawmill Company

Position: Sanitation/Cleaner
Location: Enfield, NCSchedule: 6:00 AM to 6:00 AM - 12 hours swing shift
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour - Plus $1.00 differential shift

Position Summary

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout the sawmill facility. This role supports the areas of production, offices, bathrooms and maintenance operations by ensuring work areas, equipment, and common spaces meet safety, environmental, operational and cleaning standards. The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina as the facility counts with 3 floors area that requires to be clean every other hour, is require to check trash container and dispose all trash in it designated area, clean and refill bathrooms, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of sawmill floors, equipment areas, workstations, break rooms, bathrooms, some offices, and common areas
• Remove trash from containers, sawdust, debris, scrap wood, and waste materials from production, maintenance, cafeteria, bathroom and other areas
• Assist with cleaning  restrooms,  machinery, conveyors, pits, and surrounding equipment as directed
• Maintain cleanliness in outdoor and indoor areas, including walkways and loading zones
• Properly handle, store, and dispose of cleaning materials and waste
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and PPE requirements
• Report safety hazards, spills, or maintenance concerns to supervisors
• Support general mill operations as assigned, and depending on your assigned work flow
• Perform other duties as needed if the department or line is down

Requirements

• Must wear steel-toe shoes, hard hat, safety vest, and safety glasses at all times on-site (MANDATORY)
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, twist, walk for extended periods, walk on stairs and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift 45–55 lbs regularly without restrictions
• Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environments, including inclement weather changes (Hot/Cold)
• Strong adherence to safety, must follow protocols related to attendance, performance, and work policies
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules as required. (swing shift, will require on and off weekend days)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior sanitation, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience based on work history and background.
• Preferred: Experience working in manufacturing, lumber, or sawmill environments

A 90-day probationary period with a possible increase based on performance and attendance. After this period, the employee will have the option to transfer directly to the company and may be eligible for an additional increase.
