Sustainability Director

Own the Blueprint: Define Sustainability for Us and Our Clients.

The Budd Group, a leader in integrated facility management, is seeking a high-impact Director of Sustainability to evolve our market leadership. This strategic and consulting role will design, launch, and lead a new sustainability consulting service line across our Education and Corporate divisions, while also guiding our internal corporate ESG evolution.

This is a unique, dual-focused position blending deep technical expertise, senior-level consulting, and proven business development acumen.

Core Purpose: Build & Lead

• Revenue Generation: Design, launch, and lead a new, scalable Sustainability Consulting Service Line (e.g., ESG reporting, decarbonization, sustainable operations) within 12-18 months.
• Corporate ESG Strategy: Serve as the chief expert guiding The Budd Group's internal ESG roadmap (decarbonization, procurement, waste) and leading all corporate reporting.
• Client Consulting: Act as a senior advisor to clients (especially in the Education Sector) to deliver sustainable campus initiatives, assessments, and ROI analysis.
  
  

Key Responsibilities (High-Level)

• Develop profitable, sellable sustainability service packages for integration into IFM/Janitorial/Maintenance contracts.
• Lead client-facing strategy, presentations, and implementation roadmaps.
• Establish and manage client and internal ESG data collection and reporting.
• Train operational teams and create standardized delivery models for new services.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends to drive service innovation.
  
  

Qualifications Summary

• Experience: 10 years in sustainability/environmental services, including 5 years in a senior consulting/leadership/business growth role.
• Business Acumen: Required B2B experience creating, marketing, or selling sustainability services.
• Knowledge: Deep expertise in major sustainability frameworks (LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB, EcoVadis, etc.).
• Education: Bachelor's required; Master's preferred.
