Job Opportunity: General Cleaner (Full-Time)

Location: Chatham, VA (Private Educational Institution) Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Compensation: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour (based on experience)

The Role

Are you looking for a stable, meaningful role where your work directly impacts the daily lives of students and faculty? We are seeking a dedicated General Cleaner to maintain the beauty and hygiene of our historic campus in Chatham, VA.

As a key member of our facilities team, you’ll ensure that our classrooms, dormitories, and common areas remain a safe and welcoming environment for our school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance: Sweep, mop, and vacuum across campus buildings.

• Sanitization: Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, and high-touch surfaces.

• Waste Management: Empty trash and recycling bins daily; ensure proper disposal of materials.

• Detailing: Dust furniture, wipe down windows, and maintain clean entryways.

• Safety: Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager immediately.

Schedule & Requirements

• Standard Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

• Full-Time: 40 hours per week.

• Flexibility: While this is primarily a weekday role, occasional weekend shifts are required during the school year to support special campus events and academic schedules.

• Physicality: Must be able to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is a plus, but we are willing to train someone with a strong work ethic.

• Reliability: Punctuality is essential, as our campus relies on early morning prep before students arrive.

• Integrity: Must be able to pass a background check (standard for all school employees).

• Attitude: A positive, professional demeanor and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
