Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and quality specifications
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food with attention to detail and consistency
- Serve dishes promptly, ensuring each plate meets presentation standards before delivery to guests or servers
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness throughout the shift
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with strong knife skills
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to plan menus creatively while considering dietary restrictions and customer preferences
- Excellent food safety awareness and adherence to sanitation standards
- Strong kitchen experience across various food industry roles, including catering and meal preparation
