The Count Team Member assists in creating a friendly, professional, and courteous atmosphere in the Soft Count Room while collecting, sorting, counting, weighing, and recording gaming results. This role supports the overall operation of the Soft Count Room and currency-counting equipment while ensuring compliance with all internal controls, company policies, departmental SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and Gaming Regulations.

Ideal Candidate: Available for early morning shifts, has previous cash-handling experience, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and can safely lift 50 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

All duties are performed in accordance with The Brook Count Team Departmental SOPs, Company Policies, Internal Controls, and Gaming Regulations.

  • Reports directly to the Count Team Lead and Count Team Manager.
  • Communicates with guests and team members in a friendly, polite, and professional manner.
  • Maintains dependable and punctual attendance and demonstrates flexibility with scheduled shifts.
  • Works weekends, holidays, special events, and attends mandatory meetings as required.
  • Counts and balances all currency and coins received from live games, slot bill validators, and kiosks.
  • Assists supervisors with sorting, counting, and recording the contents of table game drop boxes, kiosks, and currency drop boxes according to established procedures.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Gaming Commission laws, rules, regulations, company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Participates in and records the drop collection and money-counting process.
  • Maintains all records, reports, and required documentation related to Soft Count Department operations.
  • Transports departmental wheeled carts to and from secured locations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Move wheeled carts weighing up to 600 pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.

  • Duties are primarily performed in the casino's back-of-house areas, where noise levels range from moderate to loud.
  • Counting activities take place in a secured, isolated area away from the casino floor.
  • The environment is fast-paced and requires strict adherence to established guidelines, procedures, and controls.
  • Employees may be exposed to tobacco smoke while on the casino floor.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, employees must be available to work varying schedules based on business needs.
  • Count Team shifts typically begin during the early morning hours.
