Qualifications and Details about the Position
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall presentation of the facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring a safe and professional environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. Duties include routine and specialized cleaning, light maintenance, and operating facility vehicles such as work trucks and golf carts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning of all facility areas including offices, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces regularly.
- Clean and restock restrooms with supplies such as soap, paper products, and sanitizer.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with facility protocols.
- Clean and maintain exterior areas such as entryways, sidewalks, and stairwells.
- Wipe down high-touch surfaces, glass, windows, and mirrors.
- Operate floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.
- Drive a work truck or golf cart to transport cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment across facility grounds.
- Conduct light maintenance and minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or assembling/disassembling furniture.
- Respond to and clean up spills or janitorial emergencies quickly and safely.
- Assist in setup or cleanup for meetings, events, or safety stand-downs.
- Monitor inventory levels of janitorial supplies and PPE; request replenishments when necessary.
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with SDS guidelines and company safety standards.
- Follow all site-specific safety rules and wear required PPE at all times.
- Report facility issues, hazards, or suspicious behavior to supervision promptly.
- Support additional facility-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
