Job Title: Facilities Technician
Duration: 04 Months High Possibility of extension
Location: Long Beach, CA 90805
Job Responsibilities:
-Follow all Instrumentum policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and lockout/tagout when required.
-Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, leadership, and external vendors.
-Contribute to a culture of integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement across the facility.
-Maintain Building Systems and Infrastructure.
-Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical equipment, and other building systems as assigned by the facilities Coordinator.
-Perform routine inspections of building systems and equipment to identify wear, potential failures, and safety concerns.
-Conduct basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs (e.g., filter changes, minor leaks, lighting replacements, and minor equipment adjustments).
-Assist with monitoring the building automation system and promptly report anomalies or alarms.
-Respond to Maintenance Needs and Minimize Downtime.
-Respond promptly to maintenance work orders from sterile processing and other departments to reduce disruptions to operations.
-Troubleshoot and resolve routine facility issues, escalating complex problems to the Facilities.
-Coordinator or third-party vendors as needed.
-Participate in emergency response procedures and the after-hours on-call rotation, as required.
-Maintain a Clean, Organized, and Professional Environment.
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, maintenance areas, and storage spaces.
-Perform general facility upkeep, including minor carpentry, painting, door and hardware repairs, and other light building maintenance tasks.
-Assist third-party vendors and contractors during service calls by providing access, information, and support.
-Document Work and Support Continuous Improvement.
-Accurately document all inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs in the work order system, including parts used and completion times.
-Monitor inventory levels of tools, supplies, and replacement parts and notify the facilities Coordinator when replenishment is needed.
-Offer suggestions to improve maintenance processes, safety practices, and facility performance.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the facilities Coordinator or management.
Required Skills & Experience:
-Six (6) - twelve (12) months of experience in building or facilities maintenance (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general repair).
-Working knowledge of basic building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections.
-Skilled in safely using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and following safety protocols (including PPE and lockout/tagout).
-Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills; comfortable using work order systems and basic computer tools.
-Physically capable of performing hands-on maintenance work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, confined spaces, and fast-paced environments.
-Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
-Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Healthcare or commercial facility experience.
Preferred Education:
-High school diploma.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-OSHA 10.
-CPR.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
-First Aid certifications.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
