Integration Engineer, Contracts and Adoption (Azure)

Duration: 6 months
Compensation: $80-85/hr
Location: 100% REMOTE

Build and launch an enterprise integration layer on Microsoft Azure that reliably distributes business object state changes across independently owned services, including during regional failures. Own the Git-based schema registry, integration contracts, reusable adoption kit, and first two production integrations. Enable Risk Capital Shared Services (RCSS) to lead subsequent onboarding and assume platform ownership through structured knowledge transfer.

Requirements:

• 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 4 years integrating systems owned by other teams in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise in transactional outbox patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build a Git-based schema registry and cell directory using CloudEvents envelopes, JSON Schema, versioned bundles, and backward-compatibility enforcement in continuous integration (CI).
• Define versioned snapshot contracts, routing rules, message ordering, idempotency, and delivery guarantees for business state changes.
• Develop Python reference outbox and inbox libraries, adoption documentation, contract-test templates, and reusable onboarding assets.
• Author AsyncAPI 3.0 and OpenAPI 3.0 specifications for messaging contracts, service operations, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools published through Azure API Management (APIM).
• Integrate two business services by contributing changes directly to team-owned codebases, coordinating reviews, and leading contract testing, load testing, parallel runs, and production cutovers.
• Deliver adoption kit v2, coach RCSS through subsequent integrations, transfer registry and onboarding ownership by 31 March 2027, and provide defect-fix warranty support through April.
