Position Summary
This Assistant Controller position is a mid-level manager’s role within Precision Site Work (PSW). To describe the role further its first necessary to describe the Company’s Organizational structure.
- Precision Site Work – is a Division of The Brittenum Group, its role is to provide civil development contractor services such as earthwork, dry and wet utilities, and job site management to Brittenum Residential and other 3rd party entities. Despite being a Division of The Brittenum Group, PSW has its own stand-alone P&L, and Job Costing responsibilities.
- The Brittenum Group is the parent company to three wholly owned subsidiaries, or Divisions, Brittenum Construction, Brittenum Residential, and Precision Site Work. The primary role of the Brittenum Group is to provide Senior Leadership, Strategic and General Oversight and various shared services to the Divisions.
- Brittenum Construction – A Division of the Brittenum Group, its role is to provide vertical construction contractor services to both Brittenum Residential and other 3rd party entities.
- Brittenum Residential – A Division of the Brittenum Group, its role is to provide For-Sale and For-Rent Residential sales, marketing and warranty services to its customers.
- Brittenum Shared Services: while not a Division of The Brittenum Group, it’s one of many different functions The Brittenum Group provides to the Divisions. With the concept of efficiency and consistency in mind, the shared services function provides the Divisions with various operational support services such as Accounting, Finance, IT, and People Services.
As the Assistant Controller of Precision Site Work, you will be the lead finance / accounting person within PSW, and you will report directly to the Director of Precision Operations. Additionally, this role will also have indirect reporting responsibility to the Controller of The Brittenum Group.
Job Responsibilities & Expectations
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
- Manage the accounting function: general ledger, job cost accounting, intercompany accounting, revenue accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany accounting
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Produce monthly cashflow analysis
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead the annual budget and long-range forecast process in collaboration with operations
- Monitor actuals vs. budget/forecast, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable recommendations
- Support capital planning, cash flow modeling, and scenario analysis for acquisitions, divestitures, and project development
Internal Controls, Compliance & Policy
- Develop, maintain, and enforce robust accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
- Oversee cost accounting methodology
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff, promoting professional development and accountability
- Work closely with operations to align financial goals with business initiatives
- Serve as a business partner: provide decision support, metrics, dashboard reporting, and insight to the executive team
Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA Certification (Certified Public Accountant). Active or Non-Active status
· Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or controller role
· Strong command of ERP systems
· Advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills
- Strategic thinker with a balance of big-picture vision and operational discipline.
- Ability to operate in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment, managing multiple priorities and driving results

- $100k - $110k base salary plus 15% performance-based bonus
