Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves supporting lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children aged infants to toddlers. The Daycare Assistant will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in a daycare setting.
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for children, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Help with classroom management, including behavior management strategies to support children's needs.
- Provide nurturing care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to assess children's progress and adapt activities accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities and development.
- Participate in training sessions related to early childhood education and special education as required.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is essential.
- Experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and certifications is highly desirable.
- Background in teaching, caregiving, nannying, or babysitting will be beneficial.
- Strong classroom experience that includes toddler care and infant care is advantageous.
