Position Summary

We’re seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, and compassionate Life Enrichment Aide to join The Elms Assisted Living at The Briarwood Community in Worcester, MA.

The Life Enrichment Aide assists with the development, coordination, and implementation of daily activity programming designed to enhance residents’ quality of life. In this role, you’ll help create and facilitate engaging activities and special events that promote dignity, independence, social connection, and overall well-being.

This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with seniors and thrives in a dynamic, interactive environment. You’ll work closely with residents, staff, student interns, and volunteers to create meaningful experiences tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Position Type: Part Time
Hours: 18 hours per week
Schedule: 2 days per week
Shift: Friday 3pm-7pm and the weekends 9:30am-4:30pm
Hourly Pay: $16.00–$18.00

Your Role

Working as part of the Life Enrichment team, you will:

  • Assist with the coordination, setup, and implementation of daily activities and special events
  • Encourage and motivate residents to participate in programs and activities
  • Support the development of engaging programming aligned with residents’ interests and preferences
  • Help create meaningful opportunities for social interaction, connection, and participation
  • Support programs and activities that promote residents’ dignity, independence, and quality of life
  • Complete required attendance and activity documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with staff, student interns, and volunteers to plan and successfully execute programs
  • Assist with preparing activity spaces, supplies, and equipment
  • Make recommendations for supplies and equipment needed to support activities and programming
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for engaging activities and special events
  • Help foster a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for residents
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Life Enrichment leadership team

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience working with seniors preferred
  • Working knowledge of recreational or therapeutic activities preferred
  • Must have at least two COVID-19 vaccinations, in accordance with current requirements
  • Dependable and responsible
  • Cheerful, outgoing, and positive demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with older adults
  • Ability to encourage resident participation and engagement
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, student interns, volunteers, residents, and other members of the community

Work Environment

This position is performed in a dynamic senior living environment and involves regular interaction with residents, staff, volunteers, student interns, and visitors.

The Life Enrichment Aide will work in a variety of community spaces while assisting with activities, programs, events, and resident engagement.
