Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
• Operate dishwashing machinery and hand-wash dishes to keep the kitchen stocked with clean utensils and cookware
• Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold safety standards and prevent cross-contamination
• Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
• Support catering events and special functions by preparing food items and ensuring timely service

Skills

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with food handling protocols
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques are highly valued
• Experience in restaurant or food service environments, including kitchen experience within the food industry or catering services
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
• Ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues
• Basic understanding of menu planning, food presentation, and portion control
