As a member of the Patient Services Front Desk team you will enrich lives each day by warmly welcoming and directing all incoming patients and guests as well as becoming a ‘go-to’ person for patients, guests, and team members who have questions or need assistance. You will have the opportunity every day to ensure that each visitor leaves with an extraordinary first impression of The Bone & Joint Center.
The position is full time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. 7:15am - 4:30pm, No weekends, no call, no holidays. The salary range is $17 - $23.46/hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Register patients and make follow up appointments
- Enter accurate patient demographics and insurance information in a timely manner.
- Greet patients and provide customer service; reflects a friendly, compassionate, unbiased and professional patient service attitude.
- Collect Copayments and Self Payments when applicable
- Print Receipts
- Ensure appropriate forms are given to patient for completion prior to appointment
- Release encounter forms to printers
- Printer provider schedules and prep schedules for upcoming appointments
- Navigate and use Allscripts PM
- Navigate and use Allscripts EHR
- Complete and submit Disability, FMLA, AFLAC and Release of Information forms
- Call insurance companies for required precertification on orthopaedic and neurological surgeries completed at hospitals and surgery centers.
- Provide precise and helpful information to patients in order to maintain patient satisfaction involving coverage issues or dispute questions (whether in person or on the phone).
- Contact all insurance companies involving approvals, denials and general information.
- Inform Team Lead and/or Director of Business Operations of any concerns with authorization of a procedure.
- Responds to calls, emails, and queries that patients and providers might have.
- Assist patients with guidance on filing all necessary forms.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
