Senior Financial Accountant | Fortune 100 Global Organization | Hybrid – Chicago, IL
A Fortune 100 global blue-chip company is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its SEC Reporting, Consolidations, and Corporate Accounting team. This role is part of a highly collaborative finance organization that supports complex global operations, ensuring high-quality and transparent financial reporting across the enterprise. Company is 1 day in office per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the quarterly and annual SEC reporting process (10-Q and 10-K), including preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Partner cross-functionally with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, and Audit teams.
- Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and analytical reports.
- Support accounting areas such as leases (ASC 842), derivatives and hedging, insurance, and intercompany transactions.
- Conduct research on complex accounting topics and assist with implementation of new standards or policies.
- Participate in special projects involving technical accounting, process improvements, and system initiatives.
- Review XBRL tagging for accuracy and consistency.
- Complete U.S. Government and Census Bureau reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience with an SEC registrant or public accounting firm
Preferred:
- Active CPA or CPA eligibility
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical ability
- Experience with ASC 842, financial consolidations, or complex accounting transactions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
