Accounting Supervisor
Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Supervisor to oversee accounting operations and lead a team of 3 accounting professionals. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end close process, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 accounting professionals, providing day-to-day direction and support
- Oversee and participate in general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid expenses
- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of financial results
- Review account reconciliations and financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure proper reporting
- Assist with preparation of financial statements, reporting packages, and analysis for leadership
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Support audits and provide documentation as needed
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the accounting function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior supervisory experience managing or leading a team (3 direct reports preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, accrual accounting, and month-end close
- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve accounting issues independently
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
