Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks and support the cleaning of food prep areas
- Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas (bussing) and transport them to the dishwashing station
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and crates safely according to kitchen health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces
- Support sanitation routines by disinfecting surfaces and ensuring compliance with food safety management protocols
Skills
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and kitchen health standards
- Experience with dishwashing equipment operation in a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of food safety procedures and sanitizing practices
