Position Description:
The University of Northern Colorado, School of Nursing is searching for a full-time, contract-renewable, Instructor/Lecturer in Nursing, who has experience teaching in pre-licensure nursing programs. Ideally, the candidate for this position would be able to provide on-site support for nursing medical/surgical clinical and laboratory courses and teach other courses in the pre-licensure program consistent with their nursing expertise. Primary duties also include participation in departmental and community service and faculty governance.

The UNC School of Nursing has a long history of excellence in Northern Colorado and recently celebrated our 60-year anniversary. Housed in Gunter Hall, we currently offer programs that include BSN, RN to BSN, post-Master’s FNP/DNP, ENP certificate, a Master’s in Leadership, Quality and Safety, Nursing Education certificate, and PhD in Nursing Education.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in nursing
- Current, unencumbered, CO RN/APRN license (or ability to obtain RN/APRN license in CO)
- Two years of acute care clinical nursing experience that includes 1 year in medical/surgical nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in nursing or related field Evidence of excellence in teaching in nursing in classroom, online, clinical, laboratory, and simulation settings
- Experience in teaching and an interest in innovative, engaged teaching methods
- Knowledgeable about inclusive pedagogy
- Experience in mentoring, precepting, or managing students’ clinical experiences
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this position includes a starting 9-month salary between $60,500 - $63,000, commensurate with experience and degree. Summer salary may also be available. Benefits include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Other benefits may be available based on position.
