The Bensenville Fire Protection District #2 is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of permanent Part-time Firefighter/Paramedics and Single Role Paramedics.

Candidates Must
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have high school diploma or GED
- Be IDPH licensed EMT-P with ability to test into Good Sam EMS system
- Current CPAT and Ladder preferred
- Have valid Illinois Driver's License
- Not have felony convictions
- Candidates will be responsible for district ambulances
- Candidates will be responsible for patient care and completing all necessary patient care report forms
- Candidates if qualified will perform interior structural firefighting operations
- Candidates will perform exterior structural firefighting operations
- Candidates will be required to become familiar with district vehicles, operations, and Good Sam SOPs
- Work as part of the Districts Pub Education Program
- Candidates will report to the Battalion Chief while on duty
- Other duties as assigned
- Single role medics who have completed at least 30 24-hour shifts will be eligible for sponsorship to an Illinois fire academy. The sponsorship only applies to taking the state exams to complete certification from the fire academy, not a financial sponsorship to the academy.
- Starting pay is $25/hour, depending on experience
- Candidates will work 24-hour shifts, which will be filled by a shift bidding; If not able to work 24-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts are also available
- Free Continuing Education Programs (IDPH and OSFM certification classes)
- 457B Retirement program
- Preference points awarded when testing for a commission firefighter/paramedic position
