What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Maintenance and Facilities Technician position at The Beta Shim Company?
We are seeking a hands on maintenance technician with a strong electrical background to support the reliability of our CNC machining operations and overall facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine maintenance and coordinating larger service efforts when needed.
The ideal candidate is a problem solver who takes ownership of equipment performance and is equally comfortable working on CNC machines and general facility systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines with a focus on electrical and control related issues.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and facility equipment.
- Diagnose issues with electrical systems, controls, sensors and writing.
- Coordinate major repairs and service work with OEMs and third party vendors.
- Track maintenance activity, equipment history and service intervals.
- Develop and improve preventative maintenance programs.
- Perform general facility maintenance (lighting, air systems, coolant systems, minor electrical, ect.)
- Support production by minimizing downtime and responding quickly to issues.
- Identify recurring problems and implement long term solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical background (industrial or manufacturing environment preferred)
- Experience troubleshooting CNC machines or similar equipment.
- Hands on Mechanical aptitude (hydraulics, pneumatics a plus)
- Experience coordinating with outside service providers.
- Organized and capable of maintaining maintenance logs and schedules.
- Self driven, reliable and able to work independently.
Preferred Experience
- CNC equipment experience (Haas, Mazak or similar)
- Familiarity with PLCs, drives and Machine controls.
- Experience with facility systems (power distribution, compressed air, HVAC basics)
- Experience implementing or improving preventative maintenance systems.
