Job Title: Intake Worker / Driver – Behavioral Health (Part-Time, EOW)

Pay: $19.80 per hour
Shift Available:
3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Every Other Weekend)

Our Behavioral Intake Unit is the first point of contact for many patients, and we are seeking dedicated professionals to support this vital work.
Position Summary
The Intake Worker / Driver supports the admissions process by handling referrals, completing patient registration, and providing transportation services. This is a front-line role ideal for someone with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a desire to support behavioral health access.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and register incoming patients and referrals in a timely and professional manner
Collect and verify insurance, demographic, and clinical intake information
Coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, and referral sources to ensure proper placement
Obtain patient consent forms and maintain accurate documentation in the EHR
Assist with screenings and assessments under supervision
Provide transportation to patients, staff, and lab specimens as needed
Maintain communication with external agencies regarding placement and admissions
Operate hospital vehicle safely and report any issues promptly
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare admissions, behavioral health, or related field
Previous experience with intake, referral processing, or patient transport preferred
Knowledge of addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare systems is a plus
Licenses & Requirements
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the past 3 years
No DUI convictions in the past 5 years
Current auto insurance
May be required to complete a driving assessment
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health records
Strong time management and multitasking ability
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive situations professionally
Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance verification, and intake documentation standards
