Job Title: Day/Night Shift Log Yard Truck Driver (Non-CDL)

Key Responsibilities
- Log Transport: Operate log trucks within the sawmill yard to move logs from storage to designated production areas.
- Yard Maneuvering: Safely navigate trucks in confined spaces, around heavy machinery, log decks, and other vehicles.
- Inventory Support: Assist with staging, organizing, and sorting logs to support continuous mill production.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues, leaks, or damage to supervisors.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all yard traffic patterns, safety regulations, and OSHA standards.
- Communication: Coordinate with loader operators, crane operators, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience operating log trucks is mandatory.
- Licensing: A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required, as the position operates exclusively within the yard.
- Skills: Strong understanding of log yard safety and ability to operate in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Dependability: Strong attendance record and ability to work as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per shift.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery.
Typical Schedule
- 12-hour shifts.
- Often includes 60 hours per week (5-day work week with occasional weekends).
- Night shift differential pay may be available
