What are the responsibilities and job description for the MECHANIC position at THE BEASLEY GROUP?

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on logging equipment, including feller bunchers, skidders, and log loaders.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures on equipment, identifying root causes and developing long-term solutions to improve performance.
Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required.
Ensure all work is done in compliance with safety standards and regulations. Promote a safe working environment by following safety guidelines, using proper protective equipment, and reporting unsafe conditions.
Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and tools. Order necessary parts and materials for repairs, as needed.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and downtime for management review.
Work closely with other team members, including operators and supervisors, to ensure the overall operation runs smoothly.
Suggest and implement improvements to equipment and processes to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability.
Respond to breakdowns and emergency situations quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Provide training and guidance to operators on proper machine care, operation, and preventive maintenance techniques.

Qualifications:

Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on large machinery and industrial equipment.
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to work in a physically demanding and noisy environment.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in an industrial setting.
