What are the responsibilities and job description for the MECHANIC I position at THE BEASLEY GROUP?
• Assist with and develop the skills to properly change bearings, couplings, belts, and other basic
mechanical components.
• Once trained, serve as a confined space attendant and hot work attendant.
• Gain understanding of manufacturing equipment and function by working with mechanics,
operators, and supervisors.
• Assist other mechanics by identifying and retrieving tools or parts for completion of work.
• Assist with work-site preparation, clean up, and painting as needed.
• Assist in the inspection and diagnosis of maintenance problems.
• Participate in extensive on-the-job-training.
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline
work.
• Learn all hazards and safety precautions of all procedures.
• Understand and apply mechanical concepts and theory.
• Must be able to read and understand information from charts, graphs and manuals.
• Follow oral and written work instructions.
• Must be able to use basic math skills – add, subtract, multiply, divide (whole numbers, fractions,
decimals).
• Must have basic understanding of measurement units (US and Metric).
• Must be able to make simple sketches.
• Must be able to identify and use basic tools.
• Must be able to read and understand basic electrical terms and definition
• Perform all related job duties and other responsibilities assigned by supervisor or department manager.
• Work cooperatively with other maintenance employees.
• Must be able to work 8-12 hour shifts and overtime as necessary up to 7 days.

Qualifications:1. Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time.
2. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry loads of up to 50 pounds without assistance.
3. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
4. Must be able to work with hands/arms extended overhead.
5. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders repeatedly.
6. Must be able to work in temperatures in excess of 100 degrees for limited periods of time.
7. Must be able to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
8. Must be able to use/operate hand and power tools in areas of limited space.
9. Must be able to work in elevated environment (ladders, lifts, baskets, etc.) for extended periods of time.
10. Must be able to work in industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity and temperature variations.
11. Must be able to work outdoors as needed.
12. Must be able to work on facility roofs as necessary.
13. Must be able to work near moving electrical machine parts and near live electrical systems.
14. Must successfully pass vision screen for driving powered industrial trucks.
