The Barn at Aspen Acres is a wedding and event venue located between Belle Fourche and Spearfish, in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota. We are a business that prides ourselves on professionalism, cleanliness, and honesty, providing a work environment that is rewarding and supportive. We offer on-the-job training, and a safe work environment, and have a casual dress code.
We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Event Staff to join our team! Persons in this position will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients and their guests, setting up and/or tearing down on wedding days, providing dish services, and assisting with other tasks as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in the event hospitality industry.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with set-up and tear-down on wedding days
- Bussing tables and washing dishes after meals
- Setting up taking down ceremony chairs outside
- Making coffee and lemonade, and re-filling dispensers throughout the night
- Moving tables and chairs in transitioning from ceremony to dinner, and dinner to dancing
- Cleaning the venue at the end of the night
- Re-setting The Barn for the next wedding after all guests and vendors have left
- Other miscellaneous cleaning tasks in-between serving and assisting guests
Job Type: Part-time; 5–15 hours a week, depending on how many weddings we have in a weekend
Schedule:
- Typical 8-10 hour evening/night shift (3 or 4pm to Midnight or 1am)
- Occasional midday shifts (10am-2pm)
- Mainly Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, with occasional week day shifts, if needed
Notes:
- This position will require you to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- This position may require you to help lift and move large, heavy tables
- Reliable transportation is required
- We are flexible accommodating to your school or personal schedule, if we know far enough in advance
